Full 2N UPS are a must. The 2N means 2 x. For every peace of equipment there should be two UPS which are designed to supply a fully loaded center for 15 minutes.
In the case of a commercial power supply failure, this is more than enough time for the standby generators to come on line. (Which they should do within one minute of the system switching to UPS!). And not just one standby generator, but two (in what is called N+1 configuration). Enough fuel supplies exist to cover even the longest of commercial outages if they should occur.
It is no good having all the best equipment in the world, if you have nothing to run it with. Your data needs to be available 24/7 and it won’t be for lack of power that it won’t.
